Counselling Psychologist
Dr Daniel Moore is a highly experienced Counselling Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). He has a BSc in Psychology from Birkbeck University, an MSc in Forensic Psychology from Middlesex University, and a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology from London Metropolitan University.
Daniel has over 10 years of clinical experience working in secure forensic psychiatric hospitals, the Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service, supporting survivors of the Grenfell fire disaster, and private clinics. He is skilled in working with individuals and couples facing a wide range of mental health presentations, providing support on both a short- and long-term basis.
Daniel’s approach is integrative. He focuses on the person's needs in a personalised, open, and supportive manner. He places the therapeutic relationship at the core of his practice and as the building block of any change in therapy. He offers a trusting environment in which people can feel safe exploring their thoughts and feelings in a collaborative, nonjudgmental manner.
He uses Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorder (CBT-E), Exposure Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), Psychodynamic Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy (TFT), Mindfulness-based Therapies, as well as drawing regularly from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Schema Therapy, and Systemic Therapy. He is also a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional.
Daniel has extensive experience providing compassionate, affirming support to individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community, helping them navigate a wide range of mental health challenges related to identity, relationships, and wellbeing.
Daniel is particularly interested in the effects early attachments have on our later lives and how these developmental milestones shape our navigation of the world in adulthood. By linking life experiences to present-day behaviours, he offers a space to gain further insight and develop positive relationships with the self and others.
