How Your Therapy Begins

  1. 1

    A Free 15-Minute Call

Book a call at a time that suits you. Our Clinical Director will listen to what you are looking for and match you with the psychologist best suited to your needs and availability.

  2. 2

    Your Assessment Session

Your first 50-minute session is a chance for your psychologist to get to know you as a whole person and to shape a plan tailored to you. There is no obligation to continue afterwards.

  3. 3

    Weekly Sessions

You then meet your psychologist on the same day and at the same time each week, for 50 minutes, at our Wimbledon clinic or online, in a slot reserved for you.

Why Sessions Are Weekly

Weekly sessions are part of what makes therapy work, which is why we offer therapy on a weekly basis only. Meeting at the same time each week keeps the thread of your work together, so each session builds on the last instead of starting over, and you are never left holding everything on your own for long. Keeping the same slot each week also gives the week a steady point to come back to. You can read more in our article on why weekly therapy is recommended.

Using Your Health Insurance

Our psychologists are recognised by six leading health insurers, and if your insurer is funding your therapy, we invoice them directly.

  • Ask your insurer to authorise sessions with the psychologist you have been matched with. They will give you an authorisation code for a set number of sessions.
  • Add your policy number and authorisation code to the intake form you will receive once you book your assessment.
  • Different pricing may apply to insurance-funded treatment. Insurers do not pay for missed sessions or late cancellations, which are invoiced to you at our standard self-funding fees.
HOW INSURANCE WORKS

Payment And Cancellations

  • Each session is paid before the appointment, by card through your secure client portal or by bank transfer.

Questions About Fees And Sessions

How much does a therapy session cost?

Individual therapy fees range from £150 to £180 for the 50-minute assessment session and from £130 to £180 for each weekly 50-minute session. Couples therapy and marriage counselling costs £170 for the assessment and £150 for each weekly session. Your first 15-minute call with our Clinical Director is free.

What happens in the assessment session?

Your assessment is your first 50-minute session with the psychologist you have been matched with. Together you explore what has brought you to therapy, what you hope will change, how your difficulties began and what keeps them going, as well as your upbringing and relationships. It helps your psychologist get to know you as a whole person and shape a treatment plan tailored to you. There is no obligation to continue afterwards.

Are online sessions the same price as sessions in Wimbledon?

Yes. Fees are the same whether you see your psychologist at our Wimbledon clinic or online, and every session lasts 50 minutes.

Is there a minimum number of sessions?

No. There is no minimum commitment, and no obligation to continue after your assessment session. Many people benefit from weekly sessions over a few months, and you can decide to end therapy at any time, in line with our cancellation terms.

Can I use my private health insurance?

Yes. We are recognised by AXA Health, Aviva, Vitality, Cigna, WPA and Allianz Care, and we invoice your insurer directly. Before your assessment, your insurer will give you an authorisation code for a set number of sessions. For insurance-funded treatment, different pricing may apply due to provider agreements or administrative processes. Missed sessions and late cancellations are not covered by insurers and are charged to you at our standard self-funding fees. More on our insurance page.

How do I pay for my sessions?

Each session is paid before the appointment, either by card through your secure client portal or by bank transfer. Prepaid blocks of sessions are also available on request.

What happens if I need to cancel or move a session?

With at least 48 hours' notice there is no charge. Sessions cancelled or moved with less than 48 hours' notice, and missed sessions, are charged at the full fee. Full details are in our terms and conditions.

Do I need a GP referral to start therapy?

No, you can book your free call directly. Some insurers ask for a GP referral before they authorise sessions, so if you are using insurance, it is worth checking with them first.
