Counselling Psychologist
Dr Drusilla Joseph is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist. Registered with established professional bodies such as the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS), she has extensive experience working across the lifespan, both within the NHS and in Private Practice. In addition, she is a published writer on the BPS website and has administered, mentored, and supervised others in managerial, clinical, and academic roles.
Passionate about the care, journey and wellbeing of her clients, Drusilla has specialised training in evidence-based practices such as Humanistic / Person-centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). With these modalities, an integrative approach is administered, putting the client at the centre, meeting them just where they are at (on life’s journey). Other supportive domains used to assist her clients in each session are tailored but not limited to EMDR, Compassionate Focused Therapy, Gestalt, Systemic Approach and Solution Focused Therapy (to name a few).
Drusilla has significant experience working with individuals who have experienced narcissistic abuse and narcissistic relational dynamics. She supports clients in making sense of confusing or manipulative patterns in relationships, rebuilding their sense of self, and developing healthier boundaries. Her approach is sensitive, validating and trauma-informed, helping clients move away from cycles of self-blame and towards greater clarity, self-compassion and emotional safety.
Drusilla has a keen interest in Clinical Health (Long-Term Physical Conditions affecting Mental Health), such as Chronic pain, Asthma, Functional Neurological Disorders and Medically unexplained Symptoms. Drusilla accumulated years of clinical experience, expertise, and knowledge in providing high-quality therapy for a wide range of difficulties, including but not limited to:
