Clinical Psychologist
Dr Itzia Perez Morales is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Her qualifications include a PG Certificate in Low-Intensity CBT from University College London, a MSc in Psychiatric Research from King’s College London, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Sheffield. Overall, she has over 10 years of clinical experience in the UK and abroad.
Itzia has worked with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults in primary care, community teams, inpatient settings, and specialised clinical, health, and forensic services in Mexico, the USA, and the UK. This has given her a broad understanding of individual and systemic factors, allowing her to work sensitively with clients from a wide range of cultural and social contexts across the lifespan.
Itzia’s clinical interests are in the impact and management of trauma and attachment difficulties, including individual biological, psychological, spiritual, cultural and social factors and the broader context around them. Informed by a variety of psychological models, Itzia pays close attention to patterns in how people think, feel, act, and relate to themselves, others, and the world around them.
Her interest in trauma led her to acquire specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), approaches that she has used to support clients with a variety of problems, including depression, anxiety, OCD, phobias, stress, trauma, emotional regulation, anger management, psychosis, addictions, health problems, and other behavioural, relational, and emotional difficulties.
This has also included exploring different aspects of identity, including affirming support for clients facing individual or systemic difficulties due to their sexuality, gender, race, ethnicity, neurodiversity, health, or other personal characteristics.
Overall, Itzia uses a compassionate, collaborative, and person-centred approach with single or multiple integrated evidence-based models tailored to each client to support them in achieving their goals.
