Clinical Director - Counselling Psychologist

Dr Norma Scevoli is an awarded and experienced Counselling Psychologist with a track record of providing effective and high-quality psychological therapy. She is the Clinical Director at Resilient Wellbeing Clinic, a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), a registered Counselling Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a registered psychotherapist and counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Norma has accumulated over 10 years of clinical knowledge, experience and expertise in therapeutic work across public, private, charitable and corporate sectors in different areas of London, including Harley Street.

Norma completed an undergraduate Psychology degree, a Master's degree in Clinical Applications of Psychology and a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. As a Counselling Psychologist, central to Norma’s approach is the development of a safe, authentic, trustworthy, non-judgmental therapeutic relationship. She places the emphasis on working collaboratively with clients to develop a shared understanding of their difficulties. She emphasises the prioritisation of the client’s subjective experience and the importance of experiencing and being received by the other in the relationship. She strongly believes in the importance of showing empathy, compassion and kindness to every individual she works or interacts with. 

Norma is trained in Person-Centred Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Norma’s work is informed by theory and the most recent evidence-based approaches and practices. She engages constantly and regularly in continuing professional development (CPD). Norma’s practice is integrative, tailoring the work to the client’s specific needs, taking into account what might work best for them based on their strengths, personality and preferences. She has significant experience and expertise in providing high-quality therapy for adults presenting with a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties. Norma has a particular interest and expertise in working with narcissistic abuse and recovery from relational trauma, working with individuals who struggle to find a connection with who they are after a toxic relationship or find it difficult to leave an abusive relationship and/or suffered the effects of unhealthy patterns of relating both in their childhood as well as in their adult relationships. Norma specialises in this area and has gained significant knowledge and experience in recognising and treating this -often subtle- type of abuse and can help individuals shift the focus back to themselves, their needs and wants, developing healthier relationships with themselves and others.
