Clinical Psychologist
Dr Valentini Spyridou is an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist, experienced in working with people across the lifespan, including young people, adults, and families. She holds a professional Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Royal Holloway University of London, as well as an MSc in Child and Adolescent Mental Health from King’s College London & the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, & Neuroscience (IoPPN). She has also completed intermediate-level Systemic Practitioner training at the Prudence Skynner Family Therapy Clinic.
Valentini has over 10 years’ clinical experience across adult & child community mental health teams in the NHS and local authorities, as well as in educational and municipal settings in Greece. Her work draws primarily on relational and systemic practice, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and narrative therapy techniques. She also utilises tools from Compassion‑Focused Therapy (CFT), Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for eating disorders (CBT-E) and trauma-informed models, when appropriate. Valentini integrates these approaches flexibly to meet each client’s needs and towards goals set collaboratively with her clients.
Valentini has a particular interest and expertise in supporting people with neurodiversity, a history of traumatic experiences, attachment-related difficulties, relationship issues, eating difficulties and body image, as well as identity and life transitions, emotional regulation, and supporting people experiencing stress, low self-esteem, shame, or self-criticism.
Her practice is guided by a commitment to inclusion, cultural humility, and to supporting individuals and families in reconnecting with their sense of agency, resilience, and self-understanding.
