Clinical and Forensic Psychologist
Giorgia is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), Division of Clinical Psychology. She trained professionally in Italy, where she is a licensed Clinical Psychologist. She holds a MSc in Health, Community and Clinical Psychology and attended a postgraduate course in Clinical and Forensic Psychodiagnostic.
Giorgia has extensive experience in a range of NHS and private settings, supporting adults and young people suffering from anxiety, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, trauma, relationship difficulties, eating disorders, personality disorders and more. She also has extensive experience in assessing and working with adults and adolescents who have suffered complex traumas and are experiencing suicidal ideation, emotional dysregulation and/or engaging in self-harming behaviours. Throughout her career, Giorgia has also supported clients presenting substance misuse issues and addiction alongside mental health conditions.
Giorgia uses an integrative therapeutic approach, which allows her to choose techniques from different therapeutic orientations that best suit the client’s specific issues and needs. This includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Mindfulness and Psychodynamic Therapy. She believes that shaping the psychological intervention according to the client’s needs, expectations, and potential lays the foundations for the most significant outcome.
Giorgia appreciates and highly values the power of connection between human beings and the huge potential that comes with it. She creates a safe space for her clients where they can be themselves, challenge their own emotions and behaviours and face change.
