Counselling Psychologist
Lynne Robinson is an HCPC-registered Chartered Counselling Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, with more than 40 years’ experience. She remains registered to practise in South Africa and is EuroPsy registered. Lynne has postgraduate degrees in both Philosophy and Psychology. She has published several articles, poetry and a book of psychological self-help, and has appeared on national television and radio in South Africa, speaking about relationships and other psychology topics.
Lynne completed specialised courses in neurodiversity, including autism and ADHD, play therapy, working with anxious families, and is a certified polyvagal practitioner and somatic coach. She has extensive experience in working with women’s health, including treating the psychological impact of infertility and miscarriage. She is also a menopause coach. Lynne has an integrative style and is passionate about the fine interplay between body and mind.
Her approach to psychotherapy encompasses support for individuals and couples who are experiencing emotional, mental, developmental or behavioural challenges. She utilises a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, the Rogerian person-centred approach, Gestalt therapy, Narrative therapy and Systems Theory. Assessment, formulation and diagnosis are based on a comprehensive understanding of biological, social and psychological factors, in line with the Systems Theory approach.
In the past, Lynne worked for large, high-performance organisations in senior roles, supporting people, leadership and organisational wellbeing. Her background in both clinical settings and corporate environments enables her to support clients navigating workplace challenges as well as personal growth.
Lynne has extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families and often supports people who have migrated all over the world. Her own experience of transitioning from South Africa to the UK gives her valuable insight into the emotional and practical challenges that can accompany major life transitions.
